All metal garden stakes and
espaliers feature a sharp 9" in-ground steel
blade at the base
for ease of soil penetration and minimum soil
disturbance.
The horizontal stabilizing blade
serves two functions: 1) as
a "foot" bar to ease installation, and, 2) as a sturdy
anchor at soil level
for each espalier or garden stake.
